Privacy Policy
DriftLantern is a free browser game in which you guide a glowing paper lantern through night market gate formations. This policy describes what flickers through when you play.
1. Information We Collect
Like a lantern's gentle glow, our data presence is warm but minimal. We may receive:
- Standard HTTP metadata your browser transmits with every web request — your IP address, browser name and version, operating system, and referring URL.
- Your personal best gate count, held only in your browser's local storage and never transmitted to any external system.
- Completely anonymous aggregate session statistics that cannot identify any individual player.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use data only to keep the lanterns lit (maintain the game), trim the wicks (fix bugs), and understand general drift patterns. We do not advertise, profile users, or sell data.
3. Local Storage and Cookies
Your best float is stored in local browser storage on your device only. Clear your browser data and it fades like a lantern at dawn — we retain no server copy.
4. Third-Party Services
Fonts load from Google Fonts via a standard browser HTTP request. No other external services receive your data.
5. Children's Privacy
DriftLantern contains no violent content, no gambling, and no in-app purchases. The lantern simply dims when it contacts a gate wall. Suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13.
6. Data Retention
Server log files are kept for a limited operational period and then deleted. Local gameplay data stays on your device subject to your own browser settings.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. Please reach us through the contact form on our website.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical protections to any data we handle. No internet transmission is completely secure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy at any time. The revised date above reflects the current version. Continued play means you accept any updates.
